Writing The First Chapter Of Your Novel

The Writer's Interface offers the free e-course on how to write your novel. Get eight free lessons by email every two days, and you will find more on how to use The Writer's Interface to create your novel.

You may send in the first three paragraphs of your novel to Strephon who will post as many as he can with a short craft analysis and a rating from one to ten. You can send in your own novel writing or the first three paragraphs of anyone else's writer, published or unpublished, famous or a failure.

The fun and insight is in the writing craft analysis of what goes into a first paragraph or two. Strephon will read and analyze only these first three paragraphs. You can keep the name anonymous but you should include the title so that it may be connected up with the first three paragraphs. The analysis will be a looking at writing craft such as metaphors, images, suspense character, action and story theme. We are demonstrating how novel craft works.

We also invite submissions of First Three Paragraphs (FTPs) that you the writer can do a craft analysis on. It's just fun and insight so make sure your ego is not too involved. We are challenging anyone, of course, to a little game of matching writing intelligence by this.

Strephon is not a chess master but he is an original thinker. Match wits with him for the fun of exploration, not winning. There is no real winning in life. You compete only to keep a high level of challenge to grow going for yourself. You don't compete to be best. There is no best. Number scores are all artificial and the human being does not live by numbers but by devotion to excellence.
